William Rainey, Sr. Obituary (1932 - 2024)

William Rainey was born on August 5,1932 to Hobert Rainey and Lovie Lee Rainey in Slaton, Texas. He transitioned into eternal life on January 20, 2024. He was 91 years young. He is preceded in death by his beautiful wife Dorothy Jean Rainey who was the love of his life for over 70 years. Together they raised 6 children Jerry Wayne Rainey, Alice Jean Rainey, William Rainey Jr., Cynthia Rainey, Michael Rainey and Connolly Rainey. In marital bliss they also raised 2 grandchildren Edward and Patrick Rainey. William Rainey Sr. is also preceded in death by both of his parents, as well as all his brothers and sisters. He leaves to cherish his memories his 6 children, 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. William aka POP Rainey (as he was known at First Pentecostal) will surely be missed and his memory will be engraved in our hearts forever.
