Willia Bell

–

Austin, Texas

Willia Janet Bell, affectionately known as Scottie, was a beacon of compassionate care and dedicated service throughout her life. Born on March 21, 1939, in Victoria, TX, Scottie's journey to Austin, Texas, where she spent most of her life, was marked by admirable accomplishments and a heart full of love. Her intelligence and dedication led her to become a Licensed Vocational Nurse in 1966, a profession she served faithfully until her retirement in 2014 from Seton Medical Center and Oakcrest Manor. Her profession was more than just a job; it was a testament to her unwavering commitment to alleviating the pain of others and bringing joy to their lives.

Scottie was a woman of faith, deeply involved in church activities and always ready to lend a hand. She lived a life in accordance with 1 Peter 4:10, “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” This verse resonated deeply with Scottie. Whether it was her proficiency as a certified beautician or her love for traveling, she used her gifts to bring happiness to those around her. Her home was filled with the laughter of her loved ones, her kitchen filled with the aroma of her cooking, and her heart filled with the love she had for her family and her church.

She is preceded in death by her parents Henry James Sr. and Willia Scott, her brother Henry James Jr., her grandsons Xavier Hill, Cordell Neal, and her loving husband Robert Bell.

Scottie is survived by her children Rosland Neal, and Chuckiey (Jennifer) Bell; her step-children Vernon Bell and Chaundra Bell; her sisters Lee Henry, Mary Odom, Lillian White, and Annie Owens; her grandchildren L’Ronica Hill, Robert J; her great-grandchildren Jah'Dae, Robert T., Amethyst, Miheyliha (Mia), Apricity, and Azalea.
