Obituary for Wanda Luet Osagie
Giving all praise and glory to our Heavenly Father, we honor and acknowledge the homegoing of our dear sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend – Wanda Luet Osagie.
Wanda entered eternal rest on June 11, 2026, in Houston, Texas. Services will be at 12 p.m. Friday, June 26, at King-Tears Mortuary in Austin. Born on January 17, 1949, to the late Cleveland Cross and Cleopatra Frederick Cross, Wanda lived a life marked by creativity, resilience, and deep devotion to her family.
After graduating high school in 1967 from Carver High School located in Waco, Texas, Wanda pursued her passion for fashion and style. She began her career at Marie Antoinette, a high-end department store in Austin, where she trained to become a fashion buyer and later advancing her career to Scarbrough department store. Her natural elegance, keen eye for beauty, and love for refinement shaped both her professional journey and the way she carried herself throughout her life.
A devoted Christian, Wanda praised the Lord throughout her life. She enjoyed watching Televangelist – Jimmy Swaggart and any gospel programs that strengthened her faith. Her favorite scripture was Psalm 91 – a passage centered on divine shelter (covering), angelic protection and God’s unfailing love. This scripture reflects the way she lived: trusting, covered and anchored in faith.
Wanda will be remembered for her warm, radiant smile that greeted everyone she met. There is no doubt that she loved the Lord deeply, and she loved her family just as fiercely. Her family and friends will forever carry her memories with them.
Wanda was the proud and loving mother of Shannon Coleman Smith (Tracy), Reginald (Reggie) Green, and Brian Green. Her children were the center of her life, and she poured her strength, wisdom, and unwavering love into each of them.
Wanda is preceded in death by her parents Cleveland Cross and Cleopatra Frederick Cross and two brothers, Tommy Gene Dunmore Jr. and Beauford Dunmore. She leaves to cherish her memories four sisters, Barbara Jean Lee (Lancaster, TX), Shirley Merceil Evans (Austin, TX), Elaine Kuykendall (Don) (Waxahachie, TX), and Dyahetta Griffin-Craft (Ronnie) (Waco, TX). Additionally, she leaves a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was also a cherished grandmother to 7 grandchildren, Dexton Young II, Reginald (Reggie) Campbell Jr., Renee Green, Jasmine Green, Brianna Green, Trenton Green, and Brian Green Jr., and blessed to be a great-grandmother to 8 great-grandchildren, Jade & JaLynn Young, Z’nae Battle, Kali Holmes, Dexton Young III, Anika Mendez, Reginald (Reggie) Campbell III and Zuri Green. Each of them brought her immense joy and pride. Wanda’s presence was a steady source of comfort, laughter, and encouragement for her family, and her legacy lives on in their hearts.
May she rest in peace.
