Veronica Williams

–

Austin, TX

Veronica E. Williams, affectionately known to her family and loved ones as “Sheila,” passed away leaving a legacy of love, care, and vibrant joy. Born on February 19, 1960, to Eligha and Modoria Williams, Sheila was raised in the historic 5th Ward area of Houston, Texas with her loving siblings, where she attended school and formed her foundation.

Sheila possessed a naturally nurturing spirit, which led her to a fulfilling career with Texas Home Healthcare. Her passion for helping others extended far beyond her job; she deeply loved and cared for the elderly, including her own family members, ultimately becoming the family's most trusted caretaker.

On March 18, 1977, Veronica Williams and Gregory Holliman (who preceded her in death in September 2024) welcomed their one and only beautiful baby girl, Victoria E Williams Mack. Victoria, named after her great-grandmother Victoria Smith, was the absolute light of Sheila's life—loved, cherished, and protected her beyond measure.

Sheila later moved to Austin, Texas, where she was cared for by her sister, Patricia. There, she dedicated her life to Christ and became a faithful member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, where she was baptized by her pastor, Pastor Roy F Jones II.

To know Sheila was to know a woman who embraced the beauty of life. She loved the artistry of glamour, often spending the entire day perfecting her makeup and painting her nails to match her perfectly planned outfits. When she was dressed to the nines, she loved nothing more than hitting the town with her lifetime partner of 20+ years, Michael Bell (whom she fondly called “Sweetie”), for a night of dancing at Mr. A’s or even cruising around the city of Houston together. At home, her spirit was just as lively.

She would fill the house with music, dancing and cleaning to the soulful sounds of some Earth, Wind and Fire, Maze & Frankie Beverly, Johnnie Taylor and many other favorites. Her bright smile, impeccable style, and nurturing heart will be profoundly missed but forever celebrated.

“And the peace of God which passeth all understanding shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:7

Sheila completed her journey on this earth on October 7, 2026, at the age of 66, entering into eternal rest. A beautiful reunion awaits Sheila in glory as she is welcomed home by those who went before her. Walking before her were her devoted parents, Modoria and Eligha Williams; her grandmothers, Helen Jacob and Victoria Smith; her grandfathers, Lester Jacob Sr.
and Papa Jesse Smith; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who held her dear, were all there to embrace her leading the way into the Almighty Kingdom and God's Glory.

Sheila’s memory will be cherished forever by her devoted daughter, Victoria Mack, her son-in-law, Andres Mack, grandfurbaby Judah, and her life partner Michael Bell. She also leaves behind her loving siblings who loved and cared for her dearly: Dennis Williams(Linda), Patricia Williams Griffin (Walter), Sidney Charles Williams Sr. (Renee), Michael Briscoe, LaTina Williams, and Jonathan Williams, along with a whole host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, family and extended family members who loved her
dearly.
