Sandra "Deanie" Dean (Hart) Favors Obituary (1961 - 2023)

Sandra Dean Hart-Favors was born December 7, 1961, to Jesse and Barbara Hart in Austin, Texas. Sandra, affectionally known as "Deanie", grew up in Austin with her older siblings, Sharon and Sherman Patton, Jr., and spent her childhood in Austin. Sandra's grandmothers: Inez Patterson (Mama Patterson), and Ethel Hart played a vital role in Sandra's childhood upbringing in Austin. Mama Patterson, who resided in the same household, taught Sandra to love God, respect her elders, and treat others the way she would want to be treated. Sandra was a fun-loving, outgoing, and strong-willed individual, who loved life and made the best of every situation. Sandra never met a stranger, and loved to make people laugh. Sandra graduated from Lyndon Baines Johnson (LBJ) High School in 1981. Sandra met and married Roger Favors. They were blessed with one daughter, Bethany Deshaun Hart-Favors. Sandra was preceded in death by husband Roger Favors; Father, Jesse Hart; mother, Barbara Hart; grandmothers, Inez Patterson, and Ethel Hart; and Two Aunts; Doris Alton, and Ruth Jackson. Sandra received Christ at an early age and was baptized at the No.1 Church of God in Christ (COGIC), Austin, Texas, under the leadership of Bishop M.G. Grady. In her early twenties, Sandra learned to play drums at COGIC, and enjoyed playing for Sunday morning services. Sandra later united with Bethany Christian Church, Austin, Texas under the leadership of Rev. William Booker. Sandra crafted her gift as a drummer during her time at Bethany Christian Church and loved playing for Sunday morning and other services until she relocated to Dallas, Texas. While in Dallas, Sandra was employed with the North Texas Job Corp Center. Sandra later moved back to Austin, and began working for Gary Job Corp Center, San Marcos, Texas. Upon leaving Gary Job Corp, Sandra worked for the Austin Independent School District (AISD). Other professional employment includes Capital Metro, Austin Texas, and Southwest ISD Transportation System, San Antonio, Texas. Sandra was a devoted Texas Longhorn fan. Sandra enjoyed watching every single Texas Longhorn football game. Sandra also loved watching Women's College, and professional Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) games 24/7! Sandra moved to San Antonio, Texas in 2022, and resided there until her family said their earthly goodbye to Sandra on Tuesday December 12, 2023, at Christus Santa Rosa Southwest Hospital, in San Antonio. Sandra loved and was very proud of her four grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with them. Sandra leaves to cherish her memories: Her daughter Bethany Bigham (Dominique) of San Antionio, Texas; one sister Sharon Roland (John) of Buda, Texas; two brothers, Sherman Patton, Jr. (Glenda) of Katy, Texas; and Stanley Hart. Grandchildren; Braylen, Chandon, Zariah, and Keiston. One niece Lori Hall (Reginald), four nephews; Jared Roland (Taleesa), Sherman Patton, III, Bradi Patton, and Landon Patton. Two great nieces, Tearra, and Jordyn; and one great nephew, Ezekiel. Two special God-daughters; Trinitee Taylor, and Zoe Cheatham.
