Please read information posted here: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/daily-life-coping/funeral-guidance.html THANK YOU FOR YOUR COOPERATION AND UNDERSTANDING On September 20, 1929, in Fairfield, Texas Rheu Dell was born to parents Eddie and Mabel Stradford, she was the fourth of six children. Rheu Dell accepted Christ at an early age and joined New Zion Baptist Church in Fairfield, Texas. Rheu Dell graduated from Booker T Washington High School in Teague, Texas in 1945. She went on to attend Mary Allen Junior College and then Tillotson College. Upon moving to Austin, she joined Ebenezer Third Baptist Church where she was a member for more than 75 years. On August 13, 1950, Rheu Dell was united in holy matrimony to Milton House of Manor, Texas. To this union 6 children were born. She was a family oriented and dedicated mother. Additionally, she was an avid reader that also enjoyed fishing, gardening, sewing and cooking. Rheu Dell would open the doors for all that needed assistance; growing up the yard would look like a Kool-Aid commercial (the house on the block where all the kids played). Once her children all became school age, Rheu Dell took a position as a food service worker at Travis State School, in Austin, Texas where she was employed for a period of 10 years. Upon her entrance into being a grandmother, she played a pivotal part in the upbringing of her grandchildren (daycare, protector, teacher, psychiatrist, and best friend). The love for her children was so strong they could not imagine a greater love until they saw the overwhelming and everlasting love and support, she provided to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren (they all believe they were her favorite). Rheu Dell was preceded in death by her husband Milton House; son Charles E. House (Janie Ray); parents, Eddie and Mabel Stradford; brothers, Eddie Stradford Jr. (Ellecia - dec'd), Jimmie Stradford (Litha - dec'd), Murford Stradford (Carolyn), and George Stradford (Virginia). Rheu Dell leaves to cherish her memory her children Eddie F. House (Carolyn), Don C. House, Rhonda D. House, Rachelle "Denise" Pierce (Darryl), Mabel "Yvette" Phillips (Abe); grandchildren, Brian Mitchell (Denise), Terrell House, Jennifer Mackey, Hamilton House (Adrienne), LaKeisha McMillion (Michael), Preston Phillips, Maya Pierce, Christopher Pierce, Saniah Phillips, Nicole House, Tyler House, Sydney "Alaina" House, Trinity Phillips, sister Corrie Wilson (Rev. G. H. Homer - dec'd); 11 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and very close friends of the family.
