Lois M. (Evans) Goodall Obituary (1946 - 2019)

Lois Marie Evans was born on October 14, 1946, in Lake Providence, Louisiana, to Margaret Mason and John Evans. She attended the locals, as did her friend Louis Goodall, and graduated from Griffin High School in 1964. After high school, she attended Grambling State University in Grambling, LA. Before moving to California. After arriving in California, she met and married Kenneth William Sanford, Jr. on June 12, 1970. Together they raised two children, Terrance and Kimberly. Lois was an amazing mother and caretaker to her family. Regrettably, Mr. Sanford preceded Lois in death. Later, Lois and Louis reconnected and Louis then proposed marriage. She accepted and moved to Austin, TX in 2011 where they were united in Holy Matrimony at Wesley United Methodist Church on March 26, 2011. Having become a member of Wesley UM Church, she soon became involved in the activities of the church. It began with regular Sunday School attendance on every Sunday, then joining several ministries: the Evangelism Ministry, Communion Stewards, 55+ Ministry and participating with the United Methodist Women's Annual 7-Tables Tea, as well as the Veteran's Worship Service Committee. Because of her unique creativity and culinary skills, she was frequently and regularly called upon to provide 'themed' decor and displays for various events at the church. These included displays for the church Anniversary Celebration, Black History Month, The 7-Tables Tea, the Veterans Day worship service and a number of others. After developing a reputation for providing delicious baked goods and desserts, she soon began to offer items to individual members as well as other organizations and events. Everyone soon began to look forward to her specialties at all the gatherings. Lois continued to use her time and talents to spread the love of Christ to church members, friends and neighbors alike. She felt it to be her calling to share her gifts and talents with others. She touched the membership of Wesley as she sent cards and donations to the sick and shut-in, remembering many, including the little ones, on their birthdays with cards and gifts, and supporting her church in anyway she could. It is this quiet, thoughtful and authentic spirit that will remain in the hearts of all that knew her. Lois was preceded in death, not only by her then spouse, Kenneth Sanford, but also her mother Margaret Mason, father, John Evans and her brother Bobbie Suell. She leaves behind, to cherish her memory: her husband of eight years, Louis Goodall, her sister, Mary Virgil, son Terrance Bush, daughter, Kimberly Sanford-Price and husband, Oscar Price, grandchildren Terrance, Tanieko, Frank and Mischa, as well as a host of other family and friends who loved her and miss her dearly. While she is no longer with us in the physical world, her kind spirit and giving heart will never be forgotten.
