Lavonne Harrison

–

Austin, Texas

Lavonne Louise Harrison, born on December 6, 1949 in Taylor, TX, was a spirited and dedicated woman who lived her life in service to others. Her loyalty and reliability shone through in every aspect of her life, whether it was her dedicated missionary work, her role as a Sunday school teacher, or her tireless efforts to improve the community she so loved. Lavonne was a beacon of light, illuminating the path for others with her unwavering faith and love. She transitioned peacefully into the eternal light on March 5, 2024.
Lavonne's faith was transformative; she accepted Christ Jesus as her personal Savior at the age of 35 and from that moment, she dedicated her life to serving the Lord and the people of Mason Manor and the surrounding communities as a Lead Pastor . Her passion led her to numerous roles within the church, from greeter to Sunday School teacher for various age groups, to a leader in Wednesday night prayer meetings. Lavonne's commitment to her faith community was unparalleled, even taking on the responsibilities of a deacon in her church. Her tireless service earned her numerous awards and recognitions, though she preferred to let her actions speak for themselves. As the Psalmist said, "I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread" (Psalm 37:25). Lavonne truly embodied this scripture, as she established a Food Pantry in her apartment, the first of its kind from the "Capital Area Food Bank", providing sustenance for those in need.
Lavonne was not only an activist in her community, but a loving mother, sister and grandmother. She is survived by her four sons, Ma.Que L. Holloman Sr, Timothy R. Holloman, Tracy Holloman Jr., and Christopher J. Harrison. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Terrell Holloman, Ma.Que Holloman, Jr. and Lee Lee; sisters Lillie F. Gooding (Victor) and Archie M. Bailey (Darryl). Lavonne was preceded in death by her parents, Roscoe Harrison and Dolris Dillard; brothers Benjamin Harrison, and Clifton Harrison . Her dedication to her family was as steadfast as her faith, and her memory will continue to inspire them and all who knew her.
In remembering Lavonne, we invite you to share your memories and to upload photos to her memorial page. As we celebrate her life and mourn her passing, we are reminded of the power of shared stories and the warmth they bring to our hearts.
