Kennesia Deshion Peterson, born November 10, 1983, to the union of Kenneth Peterson and Sheila Simons, entered eternal rest on April 19, 2025, at the age of 41.
She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Peterson; her aunt, Linda Manor; her uncle, Gene Simons Jr.; her maternal grandparents, Gene Simons Sr. and Gertie Simons; and her paternal grandparents, Leroy Peterson and Bernice Peterson. Kennesia is now reunited with them in eternal peace.
Kennesia was baptized at St Peter’s Methodist Church at the age of 12 after attending confirmation classes for pre-teens. Kennesia was a devoted Girl Scout while attending Pease Elementary where she made a lot of lifetime friends. She loved camping and all the Girl Scout activities especially when it came to creativity. Kennesia graduated from Regency Beauty Institute and worked in the cosmetology field for over 15 years. Kennesia thrived as a talented and passionate cosmetologist. Her first job in a salon was with Ms. Udy who was an educator at Regency. Ms. Udy saw talent in Kennesia while she was her student and she offered her a job at her salon. Her next job was with the Hair Clinic where she loved her job and most of all the family that was created with her co-workers which included, Shari, Katura, Annie, Kierra, Ms. Sharon and Sonya Richards-Ross. Kennesia also created her own Salon named LoveTress Studio while working at these salons where she shared her expertise and creativity with her clients. Nesia then then became an educator at the prestigious Aveda Institute, where she mentored and inspired many rising beauty professionals.

Kennesia fulfilled her heart with educating and watching her students thrive with their own talents. Driven by ambition and vision her artistry and entrepreneurial spirit truly flourished.
Kennesia was known for her intelligence, her sharp creativity, and her vibrant personality. She embraced life with energy and purpose. She loved shopping — finding joy and expression through fashion — and could light up any room with her impeccable style and infectious spirit. Kennesia touched countless lives with her generosity, wisdom, and unwavering love. Her memory will live on in all those who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
Kennesia leaves to cherish in her memory her son, Aaron McDonald Jr., mother, Sheila Simons, sister, Shenneka Peterson, cousin/sister Ashlé Manor and nieces, Shylind Washington and Kenneyah Johnson, and a host other family members. Special thanks to her Uncle Andrew Manor (Jabbo) and Cousin Larry Gray who was there whenever needed be it for prayer, transport or just loving support.
Kennesia Deshion Peterson will be missed, loved, celebrated, and remembered forever in our hearts.
