John Wesley Walker Jr. Obituary (1937 - 2024)

John Wesley Walker Jr. was born in Gonzales, TX to John Walker Sr. and Margaret Walker on August 28, 1937. John accepted Christ at an early age. He graduated from Gonzales High School and moved to Austin, TX. He became a professional chef for Night Hawk Restaurant. He met and married the love of his life Maxine R. Walker. To this union, four children were born. John was a dedicated employee for the State of Texas where he retired 40 years later. He was a humble man with a gentle spirit who loved to fish. He was his brother's keeper. John loved gardening and grew a lot of his own vegetables. He was creative and loved to draw. He adored his family. He is preceded in death by his father John Wesley Walker Sr., his mother Margaret Walker his sister Lucy Holmes, his brother Melvin Walker, his son John Walker III, and grandson Donovan Walker. He leaves to cherish his memory: three children, Don Ray Walker Sr. (Phyllis), Stephanie Walker, and Felicia Turner (Ronnie), sisters Ora Waters (Johnny), Daisy Collins, and brother Julius Walker, his grandsons Donnell Walker (Lakiva), Don Ray Walker Jr. (Ayiesha), David Dixon, Raymond Allen, Deshawn Dixon, and Xavier Walker, granddaughters Shamica Mason (Reginald), Rodisha Walker (Henry), Dwanna Allen (Cory), Donitra Alba (John), Shaquita Dixon , eighteen great grandchildren, and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
