John Willis Bragg, Sr. Obituary (1949 - 2022)

Please read information posted here: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/daily-life-coping/funeral-guidance.html THANK YOU FOR YOUR COOPERATION AND UNDERSTANDING John Willis Bragg Sr. was born in Seguin, TX to Clemmie Bragg and Daisy Mae Sheffield on March 29, 1949. John, lovingly called Johnny, made his earthly transition January 21, 2022. He attended public schools in San Antonio, TX. He attended Huston Tillotson University, and was a proud member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. In 1978, he married the love of his life Cynthia Henderson and to this union 3 children were born, John Jr., Andrea, and Tony. While in Austin, he was a big part of the community and mentored many kids through his coaching skills. Not only was he a coach, he was a father figure to many of the young men and women he came into contact with. Johnny was one of the leading members of the Greater East Austin Youth Association. He was also a part of the Parks and Recreation department of the City of Austin. He devoted a lot of his time to Austin Parks and Rec and he worked for the State of Texas for 28 years. Johnny leaves a legacy of contributions to the East Austin Community. He is preceded in death by his mother and father; four siblings, Clemmie Jr., Albert, Daisy Mae Jr., and Debbie; and daughter Demorry. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Cynthia; 6 children; Latrina, Demorry, Carvel, John, Andrea, and Tony, 11 grandchildren, and 1 great grandson. He will be truly missed by a host of family and friends.
