Austin, Texas

Joette Davis, a compassionate soul born on May 27, 1942, in Austin, Texas, lived a vibrant life filled with laughter, love, and the joy of nurturing both family and friends A woman of exceptional empathy and an unparalleled sense of humor, Joette had a natural ability to bring a smile to anyone's face and make them feel cherished. Her loving nature extended beyond her family and friends to her plants, where she loved to spend time nurturing them. She was a delightful beacon of warmth in the lives of all who were privileged to know her.

Joette's zest for life was infectious, constantly inspiring those around her. She was a fierce protector and supporter of her family, cherishing every moment spent with them. Jo Ette leaves to cherish her memory five children, Vickie, Horace (Suzy), Arbor, Patrice, Charles, seventeen grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, five sisters Rebecca Dixon, Delores Bryant (Robert), Bertha Reed, Stella Houston, Sharon Hill, three brothers, Howard Reed (Elbra), Donald Reed, Charles Reed, and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert Reed, Sr. and Josephine Reed ,four siblings Doris Evans, Herbert Reed, Jr. , Mary Lott, and James Reed, two of her sons Carlester Davis, Jr and Andre Davis, Sr (Big DreFrom 12th Street). As Maya Angelou once wrote, "I sustain myself with the love of family," and this sentiment perfectly captures Joette's life philosophy. She nurtured her family with an endless well of love and support, creating a strong bond that will continue to hold them together in her absence.
