Gwendlyn Ann Williams went home to her Heavenly Father on December 6, 2021. She was born July 7, 1958 in Colorado City, Texas. Gwen was baptized at an early age at Mount Sinai Baptist Church in San Antonio, Texas. Gwen loved people and made many friends in her lifetime traveling the world as a military brat in her formative years. After her high school graduation in San Antonio, Texas, Gwen earned her bachelors degree in Education. She loved working in Early Childhood Development helping to form a thirst for education early in one's life to prepare them for a bright future ahead. Gwen loved all her students and enjoyed hearing about their accomplishments as they grew into adulthood. An accomplished educator herself, Gwen had a career with the Austin Independent School District for over 35 years. During that time she formed many unforgettable relationships with countless individuals who she would work shoulder to shoulder on various achievements. One of her favorite achievements was serving with the Teacher's Union. Such a meaningful role where she could help to bring about change for all educators. In retirement, Gwen would enjoy spending time with friends and volunteering at First Baptist Church in Austin. An unwavering friend to many, a hilarious auntie to all, and a dear sister to most, she will be truly missed, Gwen was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Earline Williams, brother Charles Williams, sister Shelia Bernier, maternal grandparents Wilmer and Aletha Rhinehart, and paternal grandparents Commodore and Rosa Williams. Gwen leaves behind to mourn her sister Diane (Ivan) Thorne, niece Tiffany (Wiliam) Balderamos, nephew Bryan Thorne, great nephew Lucas Balderamos, great niece Alana Balderamos, a cherished friend Betty Walker, along with an uncle Herschel (Cosetta) Williams, aunt Millie Napoleon, and a host of cousins and friends.
