Gerald Carl Van Brakle Jr. was born in Austin, Texas on April 17, 1979, the Second child of Gerald Van Brakle Sr. and Janet Van Brakle.
He attended school in the Austin area, including John H. Reagan High School. Gerald worked alongside his dad doing HVAC work until he moved into various jobs as a chef. From creating new menu items to perfecting existing ones, Gerald was so passionate about all of his dishes, including his famous Spinach dip.
Gerald was a force to be reckoned with. Anytime you were in his presence he would either have you laughing or learning something new.
