Gerald Anthony Taylor

Gerald Anthony Taylor, Sr.

August 11, 1958- February 7, 2023

On August 11, 1958, Gerald was born to Billie Grace and Ira Taylor, Sr. in East Austin, Texas. He was the

eldest of seven children.

Gerald attended Anderson High School in Austin, TX and was a proud Alumni of the Class of 1976. After

mastering the trade of truck driving, Mr. Taylor went on to drive for over a span of four decades as a

cross state, long haul driver. He enjoyed both hunting and fishing with his brothers and father in

addition to being a member of Turning Point Trail Riders of San Antonio, TX. He was an avid sports fan

and loved Rodeo competitions. Gerald Sr. and Gerald, Jr. maintained their "Post -Game" Sports

discussion ritual for decades. He was a devout father, an excellent provider, a hard worker and more

importantly Our "Gentle Giant".

On February 7, 2023, Gerald made his earthly transition. He was preceded in death by his wife Devera P.

Taylor, his parents Ira, Sr. and Billie Grace, and siblings Mark and Robert Taylor.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his children, Gerald, Jr (Laquinta) and Isha (Karl); his grandchildren,

Gerald III, Tayanna and Kaden; siblings; Harriet, Shelia, Alan, and Ira, Jr (Joy); a host of nieces, nephews,

cousins, and friends whose lives he impacted along his journey.
