Geanie "Mae" (Davis) Edmonson Obituary (1933 - 2018)

"I fall asleep in the full and certain hope that my slumber shall not be broken; And that, though I be all-forgetting, yet shall I not be all-forgotten, But continue that life in the thoughts and deeds of those I have loved." ~Samuel Butler On September 27, 1933, the Almighty gifted Frank and Martha Davis a beautiful baby girl, Geanie "Mae" Davis Edmonson, in Austin, Texas. Frank and Martha nurtured Geanie with a home full of Love cultivated by Strong Family Core Values, a meaningful Faith in God, Respect within the home and for others all of which greatly influenced the nature of her upbringing. She attended Catholic schools through her formative years. Geanie matriculated into the discipline of Healthcare and completed nursing school. After nursing school, she began her professional tenure as a pediatric nurse that spanned for thirty-one years at Breckenridge Medical Center. In 1959, she united in Holy Matrimony to Herman Edmonson and remained his loving wife until his death in 1997. Exercising her Faith in God and Christian stewardship, she was a member of New Mt. Hebron Baptist Church, under Rev. Davis. She relocated to Garland, Texas, in 1999. Fondly and affectionately known as "Mae", her contagious smile, spirit of benevolence touched the lives of many extending beyond family. She led a lifestyle full of Integrity, Humility, And Love. As a Daughter, Sister, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Friend; an impression of generosity echoed throughout her life and she will be remembered for a lasting legacy. Geanie's favorite pastimes included watching Western Classics and Love stories, Shopping, and Reading. As a woman of Elegance and Style - Geanie showcased her large collection of fashionable hats and suits. Geanie was preceded in death by; her parents, husband, a daughter, grandson, two sisters, five brothers, and one nephew. Left to cherish her memory: one son, Rev. (Dr.) Lawrence (Dr. Verna) Manor; a daughter, Debra (Willie) McCorvey all of Austin, Texas; a daughter, Marilyn (Al) Jackson of Garland, Texas; one Twin brother, Mr. Gene (Lela) Davis of San Diego, CA, four grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
