Doris (Tyson) Ferebee-Thorne Obituary (1940 - 2019)

Doris Tyson-Ferebee-Thorne of Austin, Texas, transitioned this world on Sunday, July 28th, 2019. She was born August 25, 1940 in Columbus, GA. She was a 1958 graduate of Spencer High School and graduated from Cortez Peters Business School in Washington, DC. Doris worked as a secretary at Carver High School in Columbus, GA, where she was a member of the Models' Club. Additionally, she was a manager for Milgram's Shoes in Gary, Indiana. She was also an insurance agent for Metropolitan Life Insurance. In Austin, she was an active member of AARP. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mr. Ervin Tyson, a sister, Alma Stephens and a brother Ervin Tyson, JR. , her loving son Donald Eric Ferebee and her husband Robert Thorne. She is survived by a sister, Marion Griffin, a brother William Tyson, four nieces, Michele Carnegie, Anita McCrary, Deborah Mitchell, Cynthia Allen and Marsheila Adams. She also had several loving grandchildren, Jasmine Graham, Eari Holt, Jy Love, Omonte Bowens, Claudio Lopez and Aramis Ferebee, all of whom brought great joy to her. She will be missed by numerous and caring friends all over the US. Doris loved good food, talking with her friends and had a wonderful smile that could light up a room. Her gentle and friendly presence will be missed by all. We all wish to thank everyone for your beautiful thoughts and expressions of kindness.
