Demita Lynn Lewis Obituary (1965 - 2020)

Demita Lynn Lewis was born on May 5, 1965 to Earnest Lewis and Shirley Hunter in Pecos, Texas. She was a member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church for many years before joining Solid Rock Baptist Church on February 10, 2019 and was baptized by Pastor John Perez on February 17, 2019. Demita also joined the choir and did a host of volunteer work. She was a giving soul no matter how big or small to family, friends, and even strangers. Demita loved the Lord and always read her bible, paid her tithes, and loved her family dearly. Demita attended Reagan high school from 1980--1983. She was on the drill team, was a Reagan Rebelette and a Double R. She was employed at Austin Energy as a customer service representative for over 17 years. Demita also did a host of volunteer wok for her job and community and she loved to travel. Demita was preceded in death by her father Earnest Lewis; grandparents Sudie Mae Lewis, B.B. Adams, and Mary D. Adams; uncle Elridge Hunter, and cousin Latrice Hunter. Left to cherish her memory are her mother Shirley Lewis; brothers Earnest Lewis and Isaac Lewis; sisters Carla Lewis and Cynthia Lewis; nephews Joshua Chaffin, Quinn Chaffin, Jerrell Anderson and Isaac Lewis, Jr.; nieces Kristin Chaffin; MiKaila Chaffin, Jada Porter, and Ebini Anderson; three great nephews, 2 great nieces, 2 adopted nieces Kierra Kirkwood and Ambrosia Alexander and a host of uncles, aunts, family and friend. Please be advised that all funeral homes are required to adhere to the current ruling of no more than 10 people at a time at the visitation and service.
