THANK YOU FOR YOUR COOPERATION AND UNDERSTANDING

"Your life is like the morning fog--it's here a little while, then it's gone."
(James 4:14)
Carolyn Renette Jones Swisher Harvey, our beloved matriarch, passed away like the morning dew on Monday, February 1, 2021 and now resides in the promise of eternity with Jesus Christ, our Savior.
Carolyn was born on December 8, 1944 to her biological mother, Lula Dillon, but was adopted by her Aunt and Uncle, Ladell and Lillie Swisher of Austin, Texas. At an early age, she professed her hope in Christ as her Lord and Savior at David Chapel Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend J.L. Dawson.
Carolyn attended Holy Cross Catholic School, Kealing Junior High, the "Old" L.C. Anderson High School, and later transferred to Austin High School where she was among some of the first African-American students to integrate the school. Following graduation, she furthered her education at the University of Texas at Austin School of Nursing.
Carolyn was employed by Travis State School and Austin State Hospital until an injury ultimately led to her retirement.
In departing this life, Carolyn joins her parents Lula Dillon, Ladell and Lillie Swisher, as well as her sister, Ermme Jones, grandson, Nathaniel Harvey; and son-in-law, Calvin Shannon in eternal rest.
As she rests in peace, those left by her departure are her loving husband, Albert R. Harvey of fifty-seven (57) years; and her children: Angela Martin (Tony); Sherry Jackson; Kenneth Harvey (Janice); Lawrence Steven (Della); Michael Harvey; Irma Harvey; and Tomecha Archer (Ivan).
She leaves cherished memories with her granddaughters: Nichole, Cherie, Desiree, Mone', Batise', Mikisa, Myranda, and Imani. Treasured love remains for grandsons: Lee Roy, Derrick, Marcus; Anthony, Marcus Ray, Dominic, Alexander, PJ and Jodee.
Carolyn's legacy will live on in her sixteen (16) great-grandchildren and two (2) great-great grandchildren. Love eternal is left with nephews, Byron Swisher (Lisa) and Chris Jones (Keisha), as well as memories to a host of cousins, many relatives, friends and loved ones including her "fur babies."
We will miss her beautiful smile and blunt loving words, as well as her passion for cooking, especially her hash and teacakes.
For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. 2 Corinthians 5:1
