Anna Margaret (Thomas) Reed Obituary (1921 - 2018)

Anna Margaret Thomas Reed was born October 1, 1921 in Waco, McLennan County, Texas to Johnnie and Bessie Thomas. She was raised in a Christian home and attended Willow Grove Baptist Church during her youth and later as an adult she was a member of David Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. Margaret was educated at the Willow Grove Community School and graduated from A. J. Moore High School in Waco, Texas. Dr. Charles and Mary Love Bailey employed Margaret first as a caretaker for their young family and later as the manager of Dr. Bailey's office until her retirement. The Bailey family has been blessed with her devotion for 70 years. Margaret was united in holy matrimony to Warren G. Reed and he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents Johnnie and Bessie Burks Thomas; son Richard M. Thomas; brothers Isidor Thomas and Cortez Thomas; sisters Elvis Thomas, Etoy Thomas and Johnnie Thomas Smith; nephew Murray Cortez Thomas. Survivors include her niece Barbara K. Thomas of Pompano Beach, Florida; granddaughter Karen Holmes of Waco; five great grandchildren; daughter-in-law Esther Steen Thomas of Waco, Texas; the family of Dr. Charles W. and Mary Love Bailey; sisters-in-law Chantell Thomas of Florida and Eddie Mae Reed of Houston, Texas; her devoted friend George Slaughter; and a host of other relatives and friends.
