Albert Lee Sparrow Jr.

–

Austin, Texas

Albert Lee Sparrow Jr., known fondly to friends and family as AJ, would like you to know that his work here is done. He received a call on December 12, 2024, for an appointment from which he will not be returning. This assignment comes with a huge sign-on bonus, a reunion with loved ones he has not seen in a long time, including his father, Albert Sr., who preceded him in death. Born on September 23, 1971, in Jeffersonville, IN, Albert lived life on his terms, with a charisma that drew people to him, a compassionate heart that loved deeply, and a sense of humor that made every day brighter.

Albert's life was nothing short of remarkable. After graduating from Charlestown High School, he became a licensed security guard, a role he embraced with dedication until his retirement in 2022. He was the embodiment of a protector, not just in his profession, but also in the way he cared for his family and friends. His love for his wife Yvonne, his sister Kimberly, his nieces and nephew, his caregiver Amanda, and all his uncles, aunts, and cousins in Indiana was an all-encompassing force that filled his life with joy. As he loved to say, "Family is not an important thing, it's everything."

But Albert was not all work and no play. He relished in the small pleasures of life - eating snacks, watching comedies, and singing 80s music, even when he didn't know the words. His love for football, especially his beloved Dallas Cowboys, was only eclipsed by his love for making people laugh. Albert was a beacon of light in this world, spreading love and laughter to all who knew him. While he might not have been the biggest fan of his mother Teresa Sparrow, his loving nature and funny antics made him unforgettable.

We invite you to join us in celebrating Albert's life by sharing your memories and photos on his memorial page. As we remember this charismatic, compassionate, funny, and loving man, let us keep his spirit alive by embodying the qualities he cherished most - love for family, a warm heart, and a good laugh.
